Re: Certain people and noise/rudeness/entitlement?
this is kind of on a different tangent, but my roommate also drives me nuts with noise. I'll be in our room reading for my english class and she'll come in and start talking a lot and asking a bunch of questions and I'm just like...really?? and yesterday night I was trying to memorize a speech for class, which I had told her, and she still made a bunch of noise with her friends (they live next door and the walls are paper thin). it was just rude as fuck and I mean we have a bunch of lounges where you can go to hang out if you're going to be loud.
ugh. people.
Re: Certain people and noise/rudeness/entitlement?
The worst part is, even when I try my best to be as NICE as I possibly can, he goes into Total Dickwad Mode when I say I don't want to talk to him, accuses me of being a jerk, says I NEVER have time for him, etc. I try pointing out that I clearly was doing something (like was reading a book with a clearly engrossed expression, or wearing my headphones ffs) and that gets blown off. And, of course, if he's on his computer or watching a football game and I just want to ask him a quick question, I get a short, annoyed "not now!" often accompanied by a dismissive hand gesture.
The good news is, I think (I hope?) that he's just being immature. He's 21 going on 12, and has been for a while (the going on 12 part I mean). So maybe your roommate is the same way and will grow out of it...perhaps not soon enough to help you, but in the long run it would definitely help her.
