Yeah. I have the same problem with James. *looks to all his movies (even the shitty ones) I brought on DVD*

I think the problem with Michael is that so many people believe the abusive rumours. :/

I even bought The Pool and Bollywood Queen. I LOVE that dude. Those movies are terrible.

I don't know enough either way to have much of an opinion on that but I imagine it's a large part of why a lot of people don't like him.

Amen to Bollywood Queen and Pool. Funny story. I even brought Last King of Scotland even if I know that I never will watch the movie again. We watched in school and it triggered a panic attack for me (the torture scene is too much for me) but I also felt in love with him. So horrible thing but still good end result.

Haha, yeah there are so many people who hate stuff because so much people love it. You know. Mainstream is horrible. ~.~

I did the same thing (except I didn't have a panic attack). I saw Last king in the cinema and it did make me feel ill, though. I bought it anyway, knowing that I might not want to watch it again. And actually I didn't watch it again until after XMFC came out and I discovered Michael. I watched Michael's movie Hunger and it was so utterly depressing that I thought "Well, if I watched that, I can surely watch Last King again." So I did. Though...not the same day, of course. That would've been too much. So yeah I basically had Last King on DVD for 5 years without watching it. I still find when I watch it though I can't quite divorce James from his character, and knowing that James blacked out filming the scene...it's still really hard to watch.

I knew nothing about the movie so the torture scene was a surprise for me. If I had know about it I wouldn't have watched the movie. But like I said. So I found James.

After that I started to search for interviews with him and articles about him and I also found the one about the torture scene. After that information the movie became a total no go for me. Like you it is hard for me to separate James and his character in this movie. :/

I never watched Hunger. Michael often makes movies which aren't really my genre. I enjoy some of his works (XMFC, Jane Eyre and Basterds) but most movies with him are too hardcore for me. He got popular shortly before my depression got worse so that I never had the time to watch his works. Now I simply can't watch such movies even if I find some of them really interesting.

Rough intro to James :( I saw him first in Narnia, and then looking up interviews and the ones with him and Georgie Henley basically made me fall in love with him already, haha. The next things I saw were Children of Dune and Bright Young Things, I think.

He does! He makes horror movies (or just violent ones)and I don't really like that. I did watch Eden Lake for him and I'm certainly in no rush to watch that again. The ones I have on DVD are Basterds, Hunger, Fish Tank and Hex.

What does your France House avatar mean? Been puzzling me for months now.

Oh, it's an imaginary house I made up with some friends where we all live together and lead an idealised lifestyle.
