There's fanatic people and idiots everywhere, the fact that one is in the "middle" is not one that guarantees that one is a moderate. It just means that your political views are relatively normal in a given society, not that you behave reasonably and well.

Very true, though it sounds like OP is a moderate since a lot a people in fandom are left-leaning.

Then there are people like myself, who hold views that are either very conservative or very liberal. I don't consider myself a moderate at all. But I could never be comfortable with identifying with either side.
