(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 12:44 am (UTC)(link)Every incarnation is a bit different. None of them would have been happy with the shooting of a fleeing enemy. She basically showed herself as no different than the non-human he sent plummeting to his death for trying to shove a sword in his back.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 12:59 am (UTC)(link)Not to mention, it's not like he directly removed her from power, or had her killed or anything. All he did was say, "Don't you think she looks tired?" I think the fact that he said it to her assistant was relevant; he *witnessed* Harriet Jones decision to commit mass murder against a fleeing enemy. If she'd really been that great of a leader, one doubt would not have removed her from her position. The way Ten did it wasn't absolute; he let her character speak for itself.
Not to mention, WTF is with all these people condemning Ten for one question when another character in the same episode commits mass murder?? That perspective disturbs me.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 01:25 am (UTC)(link)Lets face it being mysteriously held hostage by aliens, who had already demonstrated mind control technology, would have been enough by itself to start a rumor mill over her sanity. The way she told the President to screw off at the start of the episode wouldn't have done her any favors, and then she goes over the edge when a guy says he can bring her down with six words. She pretty much hoist herself on that one.
