I... do not understand all the scathing negativity you're getting for this. If your flatmate has made their computer available to you, what does it matter what you're using it for, so long as it's legal and not going to damage her machine. I can completely understand taking a bit of satisfaction in quietly doing something with it that disagrees with her bigotry. Hell, I might do the same in that situation.

Where is the crime, FS?

F!S isn't happy unless it's calling someone out, these days.

Because it's the dumbest thing in the world to feel smug about I'm guessing. I'm more interested in hearing about the day where they inevitably become too complacent and end up forgetting to clear the history and their roommate sees the gayest, smuttiest, orgy-est, NC-17 slashfic on their computer history and freaks out.

I don't see it as smug. I see it as "Tee hee!"

For one thing, the secret definitely makes it sound like they don't have permission to use that computer (considering they seem to have access to their own or a different one, at least). It heavily implies they're doing this sneakily, which is not cool.

Not to mention it's extremely petty. Nor does it have any purpose considering they delete the history. Which I assume they do because they know if the computer's owner saw 'XXX GAY SLASH NC-17' or whatever, they would ask OP not to use the computer anymore. Thus eliminating their source of pointless egotism.

From what are you drawing this conclusion?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
How about you READ their comment in which they say why?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I'm wondering. I don't know that it's something to brag about but I don't know where the outrage is coming from.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
This.

Presumably because the opportunity to be a smug, lazy (because not actually challenging, because you might have to actually defend yourself rationally)douche appeals to you.

Yeah, good luck with that. Some of us have standards.

lol, ok sweetie. You just go on being disproportionately enraged by something that is really not a big deal and expressing your displeasure through barely comprehensible comments.

I also get the impression that you think OP should be challenging her flatmate's homophobia etc (is that what is being implied in those parentheses? I'm really not 100% sure what you're saying there). If so, you eed to remember that OP LIVES with this person. Your internet version of interpersonal relations and social justice is not always suitable to actual reality.
