I'm not even going to touch the first part, but dude...using other people's stuff without their permission isn't cool whatever the person is like.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Way to jump to conclusions. How do you know they don't have permission? Or that it's not a computer that the owner has graciously made available to the room/house?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
How do you know they do? And if it is a case of their roommate sharing then the OP is still being pretty shitty.

What an asshole thing to do

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
THIS pissed me off so much. I watched Eleven first and went back to watch Nine and Ten and just... no. Ten and I did not get off to a good start.

Also, it's vaguely misogynistic—I can't help for feel that the same trick may not have worked on Harry Jones.

wrong secret, dude

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I think you meant to post this under #12.

Either that or there's a Christian Who AU I haven't come across yet.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
This reminds me of that blog of people taking photos of themselves flipping off (empty, parked) Hummers (as a "protest" of oil consumption).

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
That might possibly be the lamest form of protest I've yet heard of.

what, do you want asspats for your slacktivism? like, what's even the point if you clear the history? it literally accomplishes nothing except you get the opportunity to feel slightly smug for no reason.

hope your roommate knows you're using their computer at least.

except you get the opportunity to feel slightly smug

I think that's the point

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I... do not understand all the scathing negativity you're getting for this. If your flatmate has made their computer available to you, what does it matter what you're using it for, so long as it's legal and not going to damage her machine. I can completely understand taking a bit of satisfaction in quietly doing something with it that disagrees with her bigotry. Hell, I might do the same in that situation.

Where is the crime, FS?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
F!S isn't happy unless it's calling someone out, these days.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Because it's the dumbest thing in the world to feel smug about I'm guessing. I'm more interested in hearing about the day where they inevitably become too complacent and end up forgetting to clear the history and their roommate sees the gayest, smuttiest, orgy-est, NC-17 slashfic on their computer history and freaks out.

For one thing, the secret definitely makes it sound like they don't have permission to use that computer (considering they seem to have access to their own or a different one, at least). It heavily implies they're doing this sneakily, which is not cool.

Not to mention it's extremely petty. Nor does it have any purpose considering they delete the history. Which I assume they do because they know if the computer's owner saw 'XXX GAY SLASH NC-17' or whatever, they would ask OP not to use the computer anymore. Thus eliminating their source of pointless egotism.

That's what I'm wondering. I don't know that it's something to brag about but I don't know where the outrage is coming from.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
This.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Presumably because the opportunity to be a smug, lazy (because not actually challenging, because you might have to actually defend yourself rationally)douche appeals to you.

Yeah, good luck with that. Some of us have standards.

Everyone is either assuming that you do have permission to use their computer, or don't.

My very first reaction was to want to clarify that, and it makes an enormous difference in my opinion of this.

Clarification, OP? Are you sneaking onto their computer, or are they letting you use it? Because if it's the former, way to disrespect peoples' property and be an enormous douche, and it has NOTHING to do with what you were reading or what you/they believe.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
I think you're hilarious, OP. All the fuckwits making negative comments can eat my ass. You're a pearl.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
hi op

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Douche.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you're hilarious too, OP. Apparently all the idiots hating on you in this thread were standing behind the door when Sense of Irony was being handed out. Keep being awesome, I say.
