*prefacing this by saying that I ship USUK mostly in the actual main story, but do like the occasional "official AU" stuff like Cardverse too*

I actually think that it makes sense that some people ship them in Cardverse only. A lot of people are put off from shipping America and England in the main story because of the whole "brothers" thing (even if America did disown England as a brother after the revolution). That's not an issue in Cardverse. Plus their character in Cardverse tend to be quite different from the main story fanfics too (far less woobie!England, for example), which is certainly more appealing for a lot of people.
