Meh, I'm not invested in this show, but the reasons against the Doctor being a woman that I see here aren't convincing. Arguing that the Doctor be kept cis male for the sake of these issues kind of defeats the purpose. The same for any sci-fi show that explores possibilities, really.

There's always going to be a thousand and one reasons brought up against such a "radical" change and maybe the show should do that because it is viewed as a radical change. Doing it well should be the issue, not the fact they are doing it.

You know what they call BBC shows that do radical changes? Only available on DVD and Blooper Shows. The general BBC English viewership does not do radical changes, if they wanted radical and groundbreaking then they'd be watching E4.

The reason is that he's a man and there's no reason why this can or should change. He regenerates, but he always mantains the same gender. I don't even know why are people suggesting this, it's as stupid as demandindg Sherlock to become a woman in the next season.

Or Watson in the next adaptation!

If only Victorian era gentlemen could regenerate! James Bond can!

If after 12 regenerations he has always been male, there's a reason fo that. Cry more.
