There are occasions when Daria acts like that but as far as I can remember (it's been a while since I rewatched) it's usually called out?

Yeah, that's my take, too?

Like, sometimes one or the other acts like a shit, because the show is primarily about exploring what it feels like to be both teen and outcast, and that's part of growing. But Jane doesn't just take it lying down, and it's not like a defining feature of their interactions/friendship overall? Idk.

This, I'm pretty sure whenever Daria did act like an ass, Jane called her out, and after both of them had their fight and reflected they made up.
