Re: Youtube Comments to Require a Googleplus account
(Anonymous) 2013-11-10 12:14 am (UTC)(link)A law professor (or anyone) who goes anon to post opinions that dissent with his country's official positions and pokes legal and logical holes in the government stances, for instance, might want to go anon. Bloggers, political and otherwise, might need to go anon, especially in countries where Freedom of Speech is Not a Thing.
(And before you ask, both of those things have come up, both within the U.S. and outside of it.)
Those sites might get sued for bullying issues but they might also get sued for willfully outing people who need the protection of anonymity.
