Sounds like a great fic premise but the most god awful boring thing to sit through on a family show that typically includes a lot of action. I'd be upset if my fee went towards that, not to mention bitter about my favourite show being ruined because a bunch of Americans wanted the show to be something other than what it is.

Oh, I dunno, I've seen several fics take this kind of premise and be incredibly boring with it too.

a - the Doctor being female would not ruin the show
b - it isn't just Americans who wouldn't mind a female Doctor and who gives a shit if that were the case? I'd be pretty damn happy if my licence fee funded a female Doctor. I'd be pretty damn happy anyway if that doesn't happen, but it's not a show-ruining concept.

But yeah - an episode dedicated to exploring Female! Doctor would be pretty boring. If it happens it should be a non-issue.
