(Anonymous) 2013-11-10 05:44 am (UTC)(link)Also, she illicitly poached Dean after Cas had 'called dibs' on him and committed some heinous crime by daring to touch the Holy Handprint. (Whatever you want to claim their relationship later became, at the time Anna slept with Dean, he and Cas weren't even really friends yet! Dean was risking his life trying to protect Anna FROM CAS, who threatened to kill Sam if she wasn't handed over!)
- No-Redeeming-Qualities-Raging-Child-Abuser!John Winchester. Yes, the guy was obsessive and neglectful and controlling, played favorites, sucked at showing affection and demanded a lot/too much of his boys, and I'm sure he used corporal punishment. This does not mean he never showed any love or caring or affection for them at all, even when they were tiny children, Mary had only recently died and he had denounced his own later brand of parenting just a few years before (in 5x13.) And it sure as hell doesn't mean he beat them bloody or sexually abused them, for god's sake.
- Anything that makes Castiel out to be weak (as opposed to vulnerable, which of course he sometimes is, like everyone else.) I particularly dislike it when he is portrayed as suicidal following Dean's death or a major falling-out between them.
- Sam and Cas aren't friends/hate each other/only put up with each other for Dean's sake. Their friendship is not as glaringly obvious as Cas's and Dean's or Sam and Dean's brotherly bond, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. It's just expressed in quieter, more understated ways, and sometimes via incidents only alluded to. Which makes sense, because not only is Dean the show's main point-of-view character, he's also the loudest and least reserved of the three; of course we're going to see and hear more about his relationships than theirs. (Also, Jared teases Misha unmercifully on set, which allegedly makes filmimg the two of them together a bit of a trial.)
