She is definitely self centered at times and she can be annoyingly naive. But she was in a scary and unfamiliar situation and that led to some of her more selfish behavior- like hooking up with Alex again because she wanted a connection with someone.
Piper isn't malicious.
She's just kind of self absorbed and oblivious sometimes.
And as the season wore on she definitely began to mature out of that.
