Haha. I hate bugs in GENERAL and spiders aren't even the kind I fear most (I AIN'T TALKING ABOUT IT), but I do think video games have helped me a bit in that regard. A LITTLE bit. I still run screaming from them on occasion.

As for AssCreed, YES. I actually just got to the diving sections, and was SO excited to finally be able to fully (or almost, anyway) upgrade my ship, then I actually played it and...there is so much fucking fear. I can manage it but omfg the potential for drowning (Sonic's drowning theme has scarred me for life and made me even more afraid of playing games that involve underwater travel) and then the sharks + music on top of that make it so nerve-wracking. Oh how I wish the (majority of) elite ship upgrades weren't in these damned underwater wrecks. :(

The comment below made me realize I've never been scared scaling building and the like in Assassin's Creed despite my intense fear of heights. Wouldn't say it's helped me in the real world, though.
