Okay, welcome to the club then. *looking fondly at the recent Rocky Horror secret*

OP again

There's also the thing with the character wanting to be a pretty 50's Wife after he hits 15 (it's a long AU), acting and dressing the part, and that stuff usually in fact squicks me.

I don't get it, and I feel guilty. Hence the secret. And... people? You weren't helping. OH YES, IT'S FUCKED UP AND PROBLEMATIC, please tell me something I didn't know. Sigh.

Actually, one series I enjoy has a character very much like your RP one, and he's never come across as trans* to me. He's male, with a male body, the way he dresses goes from unisex to distinctly feminine. He acts stereotypically female (done to extremes for humor). Heck, he's even given birth twice (yes, MPREG is canon there). But if someone refers to him as female, he corrects them. Or at least tries.

Being male does not preclude someone from acting feminine. So I really don't think you're trans* fetishizing here.

(Series in question is "Patalliro", if you're curious. The character I'm talking about is named Maraich.)

Oooh, yes, it does interest me. I've heard about Patalliro, but haven't got across it yet. Maraich sounds like a really cool character. Thanks for the rec!

And thanks for being reassuring about this.
