I had a couple of teachers that really left a positive mark throughout my schooling. The school kind of thought I was mentally retarded so a lot of the time I just got brushed aside or ignored or flat out told not to bother or try challenging myself. But there were a few teachers that worked with me and really encouraged and pushed me and treated me like an intelligent individual. It really meant a lot to me. And funny, they were the teachers that everyone else seemed to think of as 'the mean one' or the really harsh teachers.

I think that is because the "harsh" teachers are more likely to challenge you and not take any shit. :)
