Re: Based off Secret #4
My teacher in middle school who taught 8th grade history. She really encouraged me (especially as a writer) and made a big impact. She passed away a few years ago, and honestly one of the biggest regrets of my life was that I never got to tell her how much she had impacted me.
My two Latin teachers, especially my high school Latin teacher, both did a lot. My high school Latin teacher in particular was super passionate about her job and the subject, really pushed me to be a better writer and student, and was encouraging. I went to a private high school and decided to go to a public state school. She was one of the few people who was really excited for me about that.
Finally, the professor who taught my Television course. I learned a TON from that class, and there were times when it could be super theory heavy, but the final exam had us analyze a clip from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I always knew that pop culture and academia COULD work together, but this really cemented that this was something I love to do.
Re: Based off Secret #4
And I love teachers who use pop culture! I had a history teacher in middle school who would play popular music for us. :3
