I agree. Even going beyond this example (which is pretty much everything I hate about that sort of stuff), I am honestly freaked out by the extreme displays of OMG SO CUUUUTEEEEE in fandom. I'd be fine if it was just a thing that some people do, everyone's different, but then there's all those "if you don't squee at this you have no heart" posts. It's not enough to like something, you have to like it exactly in a certain way or you're doing it wrong.

Also, slightly off topic, but what's with people who are into overly saccharine things often being so poisonous otherwise? At least in my experience. Did I meet all the bad ones?
