Idk, they could just lurk a lot. There's plenty to do on the net without contributing to your fandoms.

Yeah, it's very possible/easy to spend a lot of time on the internet before realizing you stayed up too late and weren't productive at all. I think that's the majority of the internet population, really.

This feels passive-aggressive.

I hope that was your intention.

Hm... didn't get that impression at all, though I'll admit I'm not quite sure just what it was the OP was trying to say there. But I don't think it was supposed to be insulting, just commenting on how people must have had a lot more than the OP, perhaps.

It sounded like they were saying that anyone for whom dropping fandom was such a major life-changing experience must have been pretty prolific, and they envy the ability to contribute so much to fandom that redirecting those energies gives the person that much more life success.

I'm not saying this is all of them, but I've noticed a lot of people who aren't in fandom anymore (or at least a certain fandom) seem to almost be in some sort of "oh yeah, THAT dumb thing" denial. Kind of like when people quit a job or end a relationship. So I wouldn't feel too bad about it.

lol, that's how I'm a little. When I have a lot of the nice going in my life I'm like 'those poor people spending all their time in fandom'. Strangely, I'm most prolific at that periods too, because I think that I'm awesome and should bring my awesomeness to the world. Go figure.
