Dealing with period dizziness!

(Anonymous) 2013-11-21 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
I have irregular and infrequent periods that are usually quite light. I'm in the middle of a very heavy one right now. Earlier I was paper-white and I've been feeling light-headed and weepy today. Anyone know if this is more likely to be due to iron loss or low blood sugar? Something else? What should I eat to get over it? I'm very poor right now, so something that isn't red meat would be a very welcome suggestion!

Try something from this list?

Also, if you're eating something that supplies non-heme iron--which isn't as easily absorbed as the kind found in red meat--eating some citrus and something rich in fat with it is supposed to help with absorption.

Also, periods suck.

Before being on HBCP I used to pass out/throw up during my periods and it was because they were so heavy/I was losing most of my blood/uterine lining on day one, which dropped my blood pressure like a rock, so that's something to consider too.

Ah, I never thought of that. Thanks!

Not sure of your country so dunno if this is afforadable/under your health care but I found most of the negative aspects of the periods (crippling pain, nausea, can't walk, headaches, period pain) decreased or gone all together when I got put on implanon. I only had to pay for $35 for the implant but I fugred for 3 years easing of pain I'd do it

I have been thinking about approaching my doctor about BC recently, so I might bring that up, thanks.
