I'm having the best day in a long time. I'm getting promoted at work and I've found Christmas gifts for everyone on my list without going over my budget. What's some good news you've had lately?

Some spices I ordered over the internets came today. Which is good. I'm not using them until next Wednesday, but if they didn't come until the weekend or longer and I would get anxious and stuff about it ~ruining my Thanksgiving~. But they're here and now I don't have to worry!

Grains of Paradise. I'm making the Good Eats apple pie. I didn't have it last year (because I figured there was SOMEwhere selling it in a store in my corner of LA) but it was a big success anyway, so I'm gonna do it 100% correct this time.

My mom found me turtlenecks that fit, and gave them to me as early Christmas presents! I looked freaking everywhere, and could not find turtlenecks for women. I was actually beginning to think they just didn't make them for women anymore for some reason. They are a must have for winter clothing for me.

8 days until I go on my second proper holiday ever! Which is great because I hate my fucking job so much and could really use the 3 week break.

I found out that my exams finish the day before a book sale I'm looking forward to starts so I can go to the sale on the first day with my mum :D I thought I wouldn't be able to go until the second week at least so I'm really happy about this!

Most of the jobs I've cashiered at still required me to clean bathrooms. XD; Lucky for you though if you don't anymore! That's pretty much the worst part about working in retail/foodservice.

After a year and a half of negotiating with my company - during which it laid off an entire department, we launched bunches of NLRB charges against it, dealt with hard work, frustration, despair - my union now has a tentative contract in which we were able to protect some people, and help some others. Good news. I'm exhausted, but good news.
