not to mention the only purpose she had in the movie was for comic relief. all the human characters besides jane were only there for comic relief. not that it helped jane any. they were all boring and pointless.

(i swear if they bring up the BUT THOR UR IMMORTAL AND JANES A HUMAN point in the next movie after they wouldn't let it drop in this one i'm going to be so irritated)

That's actually a very good purpose in movies like these. It's not like people watch shit like the Thor films for the intelligent, airtight plot.

see, here's the thing. they could've focused more of thor's friends from asgard, like sif, to be the comic relief roles. and it would've been fine.

the humans served no real purpose but to be ~funny~, and it was obnoxious. especially the erik thing. they could've made it clear that he'd been incredibly traumatized by the shit loki put him through without going the "haha crazy people are SO funny" route.

Yes! Let's erase a female character with an established personality and use her (actually insignificant in the great scheme of things) screentime to focus on 3 other background characters, 2 of which are male.
