I don't know if this counts, but Thief fans have completely lost the plot in a bit of a unique way -- they're basically a bunch of frightened, threatened neo-Luddites who haven't entered the 21st century and refuse to. I think at least a couple are still using Netscape Navigator, that's how backwards these people are. They hate all this newfangled technology and purpousely maintain ancient or otherwise low-end computers just to maintain that "perfect Thief experience" and when they're not doing that they're wailing and gnashing their teeth at EVERY PIECE OF NEWS that comes out of Square-Enix or Eidos Montreal. If E-M came out and said "we're making the game 100% exactly like the original Thief, just for you" they'd complain about that too. To make matters worse, they're very insular, but like to venture out of their comfort zones to shitpost elsewhere, and then when they get their inevitable drubbing complain that we're all "CoD fans" and traitors and whatever.

I hate these people and wish they'd all get hit by a bus. There's nothing like having a woman in her 40s tell me I couldn't possibly have played Thief 1 and 2 because I liked the third. I expect that from 20-something neckbeards, not a grown middle-aged woman who should know better.
