Don't get me started on the Mass Effect fandom.

Destroy apologists. Calling Ashley a racist. Saying the quarians deserve to die, or that destroying the geth doesn't matter because they're "just machines." People who claim one particular route or choice is "canon" (like saying "Liara is the canon romance" or "Destroy is the canon ending" just stopppp)

There's some common terrible characterizations as well - thankfully my favorites are too minor to attract much of that, but...

Ffffffff at People calling Liara (or anyone, but especially Liara) the canon romance that makes me rage SO MUCH MORE than people calling any endings 'canon.' (That said, if any of them must be canon, please let it not be Synthesis. Ugh.)

I agree with so much of this. Also, this probably falls into the 'bad characterization' category, but people making Shepard - any Shepard - sound like a teenager. Grates my nerves.

The reason I hate "this is the canon ending!" stuff so much is that it tends to come from Destroy fans and I absolutely despise Destroy, haha. (I didn't have a problem with it at first, it was a valid choice even if not the one I would make, but all the fans insisting "this ending is canon!" and "this ending is the 'right' choice!" and "this ending is Paragon!" have made me hate it. Thanks guys.) I have problems with every ending, but if that one were made canon it would probably be the last straw for me... canonically eradicating the geth is probably the one thing that would make me ragequit this entire franchise and not look back.

oh YES bad Shepards in general, something I should have mentioned. including Femsheps with super unusual exotic names, for some reason that is really common and for some reason it drives me up the wall (and they are almost always terribly written).
