Re: Don't stand, don't stand so, don't stand so close to me (dumb fans)

Doctor Who fans lately. Aaaaugh. I'm not really a Moffat fan either, and I don't like the most recent parts of the show as much as some other stuff, but all anyone talks about anymore is how much Moffat sucks and how much the show sucks now and it's all so terrible

...the few pockets of positivity I've found were just as bad, responding by placing Moffat on a pedestal and acting as if he can do no wrong

just, uuughh. let me enjoy my admittedly-sort-of-mediocre-right-now show in peace.

We've already talked the good stuff to death because it's been years since it was good. We're discussing something current and relevant. I can understand not wanting to join the discussion but it's not dumb for fans of a show that's been on for 50 years to talk about its recent major downturn in quality. There's not much else for us to talk about until the show improves. Hopefully it will improve with Twelve and there's a lot of talk about the possibilities there, but those discussions rely heavily on fans' disappointment with the the last three series. And a quick look at the ratings will tell you that the overwhelming majority of Doctor Who viewers do not like Eleven or Moffat or both. Less than half as many people watched series 7 as watched series 4. Over 10 million viewers in the UK, the only Doctor Who ratings that get counted for production purposes, are disappointed with the show; that's a lot of license fee payers who have been let down and talking about that doesn't make them dumb.
