Twisted though it is, I think the only palatable way to tackle this pairing is to acknowledge all of that fuckery and steam boldly ahead anyway. Sesshomaru's an immortal blood knight/monster dog/feudal lord on a power trip/sadistic racist, he isn't going to give a shit about human norms of behavior. Shit's going to be dark, but at least then the creep factor makes some kind of sense.

No, Twilight presented its unhealthy relationships as aspirational and omg so ~romantic. I mean I prefer when the writer is honest about how fucked up the situation is, but rolls with it because it's the logical conclusion when one of the pair is a demon.

So, Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. (Gesundheit!) Yako isn't canonically Neuro's love interest, but they have a lot of chemistry. Despite this, a lot of the humor involves Neuro finding fresh new ways to torment Yako, because a): he thinks she has great potential and this is his way of drawing it out, and b): he's a demon and this is fun for him.

OP here - that was pretty much the message I was trying to get across. I mean, it's okay if you acknowledge the problems, and I don't have a problem with it. The only time I get irritated and skeeved is when people talk about it as if it's cute and "twu wuv" and crap. That I can't deal with. It triggers the ever-loving crap out of me.
