Give me your good news
(Anonymous) 2013-11-24 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)That is my good news, give me yours!
Re: Give me your good news
I don't really have any good news because nothing interesting happens to me.
My mom is coming to visit for Thanksgiving and hopefully that'll be fun.

Also, I apparently still really like Soul Eater! Which proves that my inability to get in to stuff lately isn't me turning in to a boring obsession-proof grownup! It really is just me being "meh" about a lot of recent stuff!

Well, I'm about to watch a thing that has the ghost of Sherlock Holmes in the body of a creepy guy psychoanalysing Conan Doyle and Dr. Joseph Bell with a curly chestnut beard. Also, it is essentially a fannish historical background-heavy theory as to why Conan Doyle killed Holmes off. It's more like "mad news", but whatever.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-24 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)It is sort of mixed news rather than straight-up good news (without her parents sending her money every month to continue to live here, I have to pay for the house and all the bills myself for awhile), but at least we both get a break from the frustration we've been causing each other due to our respective issues, and we HAD the difficult conversation to make it happen.
Re: Give me your good news
As it turns out, nope - Win8 does pretty much suck, but if you learn to get to the Desktop view, it sucks less. That got me through until I could make enough progress with it to upgrade to 8.1, which clarifies a lot of the confusion caused by the main Win8 Start page, and now my new laptop is all loaded with the software I need to do my job and my hobbies, all easily accessible. :D Have since been instructing friends online how to make their coworkers' Win8 machines suck less.
tl;dr: New laptop, and I learned how to minimize the suckiness of Win8!
Re: Give me your good news
I've been trying to lose weight myself. Not sure how much I've lost (for the first month or so I didn't weight at all; stupid, I know) but it's at least 15 pounds. My clothes are a bit loose and I have more energy so I'm pretty pleased. (Even if, like you from before, I think I've hit a bit of a plateau.)
Re: Give me your good news
I found out today that my car is pretty much un-fixable (or rather, it's not worth fixing) BUT my dad and I swung by a used-car lot and found something comparable for less than what the repairs on mine would cost.
