Re: MRA in my trope cataloguing website? More likely than you'd think!

Uh....not really? Those pages are calling out examples of misogyny (the "lol, women are too passive and weak to ever harm A MAN and so when they act badly it's funny and irrational and shouldn't be taken seriously" type) in fiction, not "misandry". Although I wouldn't be surprised if some MRA stuff did get all over the examples section from idiotic editors.

>Hello I am ten and what is the patriarchy hurts men too

Fucks sake. Do you appreicate how dumb it makes you look when you attempt to ignore every single case of the above, in favour of whining about just how impossibly hard it is to be a straight middleclass white woman and engaging in some paranoid delusions that every single person who disagrees with you must be a (scare quotes) "MRA".

Sometimes feminists (not all mind you just the more radical ones) remind me of extreme religious people. They believe in this Patriarchy which dictates everything in the world.

Yeah. The same is true for pretty much all ideologies ever devised. That's how ideologies function.

Eh, I dunno. In my opinion, being an extreme feminist is still far better than being not extreme enough (except in instances where they actually damage the credibility of the feminist movement). It's easier to mellow out a little than to whip up strength out of nowhere, and unlike some movements, there isn't really much of a downside to feminism.

But the overreactions and obsessions some people have when they get all worked up get a little...insular sometimes? Internally, they usually make sense, but externally, they sometimes say things that make me facepalm at the idea of them being overheard by people who aren't well-versed in feminist theory and terminology.

I dare you to go look up RadFems/TERF's and then come back and say that with a straight face.

I think the use of the word "extreme" would mean that they are already at a damaging level. Personally, I'd go with a moderate over an extremist anyday. Moderates are more likely to engage in dialogue, whereas extremists are just going to have a hard line.

Oh yeah IA, but I'd also pick someone who's a bit extremist over someone with very weak views, which is quite different from moderate.
