My job as a nurse is far more rewarding than the writing that I do. It also provides a great salary with wonderful benefits.

My job as a nurse can also be very stressful and an emotional roller coaster, so I write as a catharsis and a way to relax.

Also, I like sharing or giving away what I create, whether it's my writing, or whether it's something else. Just because I'm really talented with crocheting and have made any number of things - from afghans, to church lace, to baby clothes - doesn't mean I should charge people for it. My payment *is* the appreciation I receive for what I create, and the time well-spent in creating it, because I was enjoying myself and kept myself entertained for hours on end.

Some things you just can't put a price on.
