Re: Dragon Age 2
(Anonymous) 2013-11-24 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)Everything else you've heard is right, though. So basically it depends on how highly you value anders. I liked all the deeper character relationships, and liked the other companions enough that I didn't care so much about anders being thrown under the bus.
If it's any help, there is a reason why anders has taken such a drastic turn, but that might not take away the bitter taste of him now being a terrible, terrible character.
Re: Dragon Age 2
(Anonymous) 2013-11-24 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)Thanks for the response! I'm glad the controls aren't too different, I just dislike change I guess (even just going from mass effect to mass effect 2 was a kick in the pants for me. man don't give tease me with unlimited ammo in the first game and then take it away).
Luckily Anders isn't really a deal breaker for me, I was just kind of bummed about it. I vaguely know that he lets justice inhabit his body or something and they both get...corrupted I guess? Ah well...
kinda spoilers???
idk how familiar you are with dragon age lore but the golden city was destroyed in kind of the same way. it was the maker's kingdom for pure beings and when the tevinter mages tried using the eluvian mirrors to access the city, their very presence corrupted it, which gave the fade its black city. so i think in general it was justice's occupation of anders' body that caused him to stray from goodness. but like i said below this is actually kind of important in the da2 story?? i mean i guess the writers could have opted to go a different route with it completely, but idk... as much as i hate what happens personally, i think it makes for a great story/plot point.
