but how are people supposed to know if they're any good if they don't get feedback? even if you're a good writer, doesn't mean you don't need practice. fanfic seems like a fine way to practice to me. i don't show people most of the things i write anyway, though, so i suppose i am used to quietly admitting to myself that i'm struggling in vain over something that i can never sell. oops?
