The secret specifically said "like whenever they show any sign of kindness it has to be a total lie" and talked about "doesn't mean they are incapable of genuinely caring for another person" and the first person I replied to said they agreed +1000. So I was going with that. Yes, affection can be genuine (but only in that character's mind) and twisted at the same time. But no, I don't see Hannibal as one capable of showing true kindness or of genuinely caring for another person (beyond what that means for him, I mean really caring about the person and what the person wants).
