Akira is better than Ghost In The Shell tho

it's more interesting, and it looks better, and I like it more, therefore it is the best anime

(Ghost In The Shell also loses in the crucial "Dudes getting kicked the fuck off a motorcycle" metric which should seal the whole thing right there tbqh)

How many dudes get kicked off of motorcycles in Ghost In The Shell, ill_omened? How many dudes? How many biker gangs in clown makeup are there? How many people with insane psychic powers are there?

I guess Ghost In The Shell just can't answer the tough questions. Let's look at the facts: Akira has a completely awesome sound track, not to mention a long record of dudes getting freaking owned in biker fights. Akira - committed to being the best anime ever.

Where's the gratitous and pointless nudity. The stunningly beautiful fully realised Hong Kong esque enviroment and dispora that in ten minutes immerses you in the world like no other, and redefined the look of cyperpunk. The clumsy and ponderous dialogue on what it means to be human, and the perfect juxtaposition of cyborg tits and a manly voice. Or even a posthuman body being pushed to its limits in a way that challenges the masculinity of the audience and their objectification of the protagonist in a way that makes them confused about their sexuality.

And that final chase just outclasses any of Akiras bike related nonsense.

You just can't deny it. Ghost in the Shell is the superior anime for first year philosophy students, and emotionally distant nerds to give undue praise to.
