Nahhhhhh. I love AUs. I love tweaking canon. I love canon divergences. My only pet peeve, is when some fanon thing becomes so ingrained in fandom I can't remember if it is canon or fanon.

This. I think of canon as more of a jumping-off-point than something to be strictly adhered to, in most cases.

And I love AUs, the stranger, the better.

As long as the personalities of the characters remain recognizable, it's all good.
