It's the sweat and smell and usually correct assumption you can make that people who have hair sticking out of their shirt sleeves are pretty unhygienic

Lol no. That has nothing to do with hygiene.

How the fuck long is their hair? Because if their shirt sleeves are a normal length (like, mid upper arm) then unless they lift their arms, it shouldn't stick out at all since it's covered by fabric. And, if the shirt is practically sleeveless then of course you might see some hair.

To be fair, most women's tops have stupid short sleeves. I don't shave and it's always a pain to find short-sleeved tops that don't show my hair. I've given up and just rock the look these days.
