But...food (and like, breakfast oj and stuff) tastes kinda weird/yucky if you've just brushed. And then you go out with breakfast in your teeth!

It seems like an odd way to do it.

Actually, I have a dentist friend who recommends first brushing your teeth, then eating your breakfast. But don't ask me why, I keep confusing the reasons she gave me with the reasons my parents gave me for brushing my teeth after breakfast while growing up. :/

That said, I always brush first when I was staying some place else, like a friend's house or hotel or something (where I might meet or talk to people before I can shovel food into my mouth to disguise morning breath.)

I just can't see how it's a good thing. They always say 'brush after eating'. Eh. So long as your teeth are healthy, i suppose it doesn't matter.

I just don't talk in the morning. I'm not like - a huge grump, but i don't like *noise*. Gimme my juice and let me sit here for a few, then we'll be okay. :)

I believe the reasoning is that acids in foods soften the enamel on your teeth, and if you brush after eating, you can damage said enamel. Either way, I still do it after because I can't stand bits of food in my teeth.
