Fun trivia: Some birds of prey use this as a hunting strategy. They'll land on a branch underneath a treed squirrel and gradually chase it up the tree in a spiral until it's cornered at the top and has nowhere left to go. If it tries to jump, the bird just catches it in midair on the way down.
