On the "skimpy clothes" front, I recall a specific winter night when I went to a goth club with some friends, and on the way we passed a bunch of "normal" nightclubs. Friend and I were bundled up, because it was fucking cold for SoCal. The lines for the clubs? Full of women in miniskirts clearly cold, but more determined to be stylish. So that can be true to life.
