Mmm, no. A lot of people forget that acting is still a job. Work, even shitty work, is still work nonetheless. You take roles when they're offered to you. Also, who has time to research every single thing they read and audition for? An actor's job of analyzing the work and helping to develop their character doesn't come until after they've already been cast. They don't have to be the heart and soul of every project they work on.

It depends on how much power/agency the actors has (I say this as an actor myself). I will judge Harrison Ford much more harshly for appearing in Ender's Game and being so publicly supportive of Roman Polanski than I will the actors in those films who don't have nearly his visibility or platform.

(Very sad about HF, I used to just love him.)
