Most burglars don't break into houses with people in 'em. At least not where I live they don't...

I am not scared of burglars, seriously I can't think of anyone being killed or seriously hurt by a burglar in my country in ages. And if it happens they have to find my house first, and not go to the ground floor flat but up the stairs to mine, and if they have gotten that far and I am at home they can have whatever the fuck they want, it isn't like they will steal anything that can't be replaced quite easily.

Most burglaries* (60%) happens during the day when people are at work in empty houses, and apparently 37 out of 100.000 people get burglared, so I fancy my chances with my unlocked door while I am at home yeah.

*I assume it is a pretty universal thing, but I dunno so for clarity: In Norway

I'd also be worried about sexual assault. Unlocked door with a person inside is ideal for a rapist. Locking the door is easy, it takes less than two seconds. I prefer not taking my chances with any criminals who want to take my stuff and/or hurt me in the process.
