I heard it was good, and I decided "okay, I'll watch and maybe after I actually watch it I won't give a shit if it's Victorian or not."

But I watched and no, as turns out, I still do give a shit if it's Victorian or not. I just didn't warm to the modern setting. That ineffable pervasive atmosphere that I love which comes with the Victorian setting was missing, and without it, the show just didn't grab me.

That makes sense.

I wasn't too big on Sherlock Holmes but I watched it because my friends peer pressured me.

I'll probably watch the new episodes, because I got my family hooked on it too, but I don't like the fandom.
