I'm not in the fandom (and wasn't so much even when I watched the show) because I have a lot of issues with the fandom. However, I seem to recall that anytime anyone brought up Regina (usually in regards to her relationship with Henry and Emma's relationship with Henry), at least half the people said she was irredeemable because of the Graham situation. So I obviously don't see the same issue that you do.

I dropped the show when it became clear that she was getting a redemption arc, and I think many people who had comparable concerns did the same. :)
