I'm 2 years older than you, and kind of in the same boat. But you can bring it down a LOT just by going on a walk every day and watching what you eat. Eat things that lower your cholesterol, like almonds or oatmeal or pistachios. Make sure you get enough fiber and variety of vegetables. Keep under 2000 calories a day. I stayed under 1500 for 3 months and ended up losing 20 lbs, just doing all those things, and my BMI dropped a number, and my blood pressure went down a good amount. Don't beat yourself up! I believe in you! :3
