Almond

And it is delicious and does not make me sick. Wins all around!

Almond milk actually might be my favorite, too. I wish it wasn't so spendy. D:

So spendy, and in my area it's only sold in one store that's a bit further away than I usually go for groceries. It's my one big splurge item. :)

Seconded. Soooooo tasty, and no lactose. And tastes awesome with various flavored syrups mixed in (hazelnut and chai tea spice are my favorite so far).

I've never actually seen almond milk. My country's not too great when it comes to milk subsitutes for lactose intolerant or vegan people, but I always wanted to try it. What does it taste like? Is it sweet? I always imagined it as slightly sweet.

I think I'll search for it actively now. Sounds delicious. Thanks!

The place where I buy it sells a few different varieties too - there's unsweetened, which is pretty much like milk but with a slightly nutty flavor to it, but also vanilla and chocolate, which are of course sweeter and flavored as labelled. The first time I had any it was vanilla, and it was kind of like drinking melted but still ice-cold vanilla ice cream, just thinner. So delicious, but I usually get the unsweetened regular so I can mix things with it. Makes excellent hot chocolate and mocha. ;) Never tried the chocolate, since it's kind of less flexible with other flavorings than regular or vanilla, but I bet it's awesome to drink straight. Like chocolate-covered almonds...

Also I discovered this week that one brand puts out a coconut/almond milk blend. It would be like drinking an Almond Joy bar, so I obviously need to try this at some point. ;)

Sounds really interesting! The only thing I've seen here is some sort of "almond drink" - which seems to be sweetened almond milk - but the only version I've seen has pretty mixed reviews.

Oh well, if I find some, I'll just try it next time!

Are there any natural/organic/specialty food stores where you're from? They tend to have a better selection of things like this.

If not, you could try ordering it online. The shelf-stable variety is only a little bit more expensive, and tastes just as good.

I've been buying unsweetened unflavored almond milk exclusively for the last ten months. It's twice as expensive, but I like it enough to justify the splurge. Besides, cow's milk tastes slimy to me now.

The only thing it's no good in is coffee, but I drink mine black. Guests just have to deal.

No, it just tastes a little off to me. I'm glad you like it, though :>
