And why is it the best kind of milk?

1%. Because it's not as creamy as 2% or whole, but it still has some flavor and texture in there unlike skim. And because I drank it the most growing up, which makes it the best.

Everything else is either too light or too heavy. They also have the best bottle cap color.

And it is delicious and does not make me sick. Wins all around!

Whole. Because I like milk and not milk-flavored water.

I drink 1% and only because that's what my mom buys, otherwise I usually prefer 2% or whole.

Whole milk. I like milk that is milk, not sorta milk, but mostly because it's the milk I've drank all my life.

1%.

It isn't the best, it's just the kind I'm used to, and any other kind TASTES WEIRD. Except that if I'm eating sugary cereal, I can use skim milk, because then I don't taste it so much.

soy when I can afford it cause I'm lactose intolerant. skim most of the time. I won't claim skim is the best tasting, but it's the healthiest.

I can only drink skim. I used to like and only drink whole, but it started making me sick some years ago :/ Haven't tried many substitutes - hadn't even heard of almond milk upthread - because they're rare and expensive here. So I basically don'r drink any milk now and use skim for recipes.

Chocolate soymilk. Silk brand.

Because it tastes like what I imagine ambrosia to taste like. It's the greatest.

SoyPlus' soy milk.

It's healthy and comes in several flavors (vanilla and natural are my favorite ones) and drinking it hot before going to bed is a sure way to sleep well.

I use 1% cow's milk, almond milk and coconut milk in various dishes. I don't drink milk straight.

Whole. Creamier the better. Growing up we had fresh milk delivered to our door every morning and it was amazing. Then I went through a skim phase as a teenager, and I don't know wtf I was thinking because going back to whole was like rediscovering a new level of tastiness.

Lactose Free, full cream, long storage.

The lactese makes it a little sweeter than normal milk

White.

I'm not racist, but if you drink non-white milk then it ain't gonna end well for you there mate. You'll be intimately familiar with the backside of the outhouse door at the very least.

Vitamin D.

The D stands for DELICIOUS.

Whole.

I grew up most of my childhood with skim powdered milk. Full cream fresh milk was a rare treat. As an adult I can't stand skim, and only barely stand semi-skim. I don't drink milk really often these days, so it's returned being somewhat a treat - a litre a week of fresh full-cream as a treat (long-life packs in cupboard, but they don't quite taste the same as fresh).

Whole and 2% milk. I don't whole milk often as it's usually more expensive than 2%, so I stick with the 2%.

Skim milk and 1% milk will NEVER grace my fridge because they are terrible. Especially skim milk. It's fucking milk flavored water that's had too much ice in it. Disgusting.

Skim. Why, you ask? Because there's a bunch of research to suggest that milk with high fat content ameliorates the weight-maintenance benefits of the milk you're drinking in the first place; instead of protein supplementation --> appetite suppression --> decreased net calories per meal, you wind up with more net calories.

Also anything else tastes like cream. But then, I expect lj isn't the most health-conscious bunch of nerds.

But seriously, sheep milk is the best and if it wasn't so damn expensive I'd drink it alllllll the time.

Almond milk is da best

cuz regular milk is groce

and it ain't lactose milk so no chance of upset stomachs and stuff

none because I am lactose intolerant /sigh

Chocolate and strawberry milk are my favorites, but drinking milk is a no no for me; it makes me sick. I cook with 2% a lot though, and as long as I'm not chugging it I'm usually fine. If I'm having cereal I'll usually use Almond or Soy because that's even easier on my stomach. (Although Soy doesn't have much of a taste to me, and Almond is so nutty I wouldn't want to cook with it, so yea, usually 2%.)

I don't think it's the best kind, it's just the kind I use.
