There's no, like, Tumblr etiquette that says you can't just lurk. It doesn't sound like you're there to make friends, so having an empty blog won't hurt interaction. And no one's going to care if an empty blog follows them, if they even notice. Don't worry about any of it!

That's always been the impression I go - most people just reblog and like stuff and occasionally PM each other or something, but otherwise most of the interaction happens between a few people, or between 'lurkers' and BNFs (or, um, Medium-NFs, as the case may be on Tumblr?).
