I don't even watch this show, and the mere description of this plotline pisses me off. If it is the way it sounds in this secret, that's a way to behave like an obnoxious dick.

It's actually not that bad and kinda sad if you watch it in context. YMMV of course.

Yeah, I read the threads below, and now it sounds like in reality it is the others who were obnoxious dicks to her...

It was kind of a both situation?

Four of her friends stole her from her (really awesome) afterlife and expected her to be grateful. (Also? they seem to have spent the remnants of her recently dead mother's insurance/retirement money as well as the proceeds from the sale of her mother's share of the art gallery. And at least two of them seemed to think it was okay to sponge off of her - living in her house, eating her food, using her utilities - while she's working ungodly hours at a fast food joint without adding to the household finances or cleaning up so that she could pass DCF's inspections. Also? When they found out what they had done none of them took responsibility or tried to help her.)

Buffy (the resurrected character) responded by NOT telling them what they'd done to her and taking her angst out on undeserving targets who had had nothing to do with raising her from the dead and forcing her to claw her way out of her coffin & grave with her bare hands.

I actually had to stop watching (reruns of) the series because it distressed me to watch her beat the shit out of someone who - while admittedly soulless and somewhat evil - was helpless before her, by choice/the force of his emotions for her. What SHE did was evil in its own right, though, regardless of who he is or what he has done. Justifications after the fact don't make it okay with me - but that's a minority opinion within the fandom. (A really, really tiny minority opinion.)

Late, but thanks a lot for the explanation! It totally makes sense.

No problem! You're welcome!
