Baking. This time of year I can bake all I want - try new recipes, go to battle with some tough ones I failed at before, bring out my favorite ones that I keep exclusively for winter - and there's always someone to eat them so nothing goes to waste if I make too much or don't like them. :)

Yes to baking. For the past five years or so I've only bought presents for my parents and a couple friends, and everyone else gets a big tub of baked goods. Mostly cookies, but there are always cinnamon rolls as well and last year I branched out into marshmallows. And I have apparently had a request this year. Mom did a Starbucks run with one of my cousins on Thanksgiving, and said cousin got a chai latte. This conversation ensued:

"I didn't know you liked chai. Jess [me] is a big fan of it, too."
"I didn't know I liked chai until she made those cookies last year. She's making them again this year, right?"

SA

The recipe in question: http://bakemeaway.wordpress.com/2010/10/20/chai-spiced-snickerdoodles/

I use a premixed chai spice blend from the local Asian market so mine is a little different from the final product here, but it's still awesome.

ayrt. Those cookies look and sound awesome, I might have to add them to my list of recipes to try.
