I have a preternatural gift for deciphering song lyrics. Just song lyrics. My hearing isn't great and I have to ask people to repeat themselves all the time in conversation, but point me to a new song and I will have most of the words memorized within about three repeats. On more than one occasion my parents have asked me to tell them the words to songs they've been listening to since before I was born.

I can hear a song once and be able to sing along to most of it years later. There have been a couple of times I've started singing along to something I could swear I'd never heard before and go cross-eyed trying to stare at my mouth.

I'm not great at deciphering song lyrics though. If I don't understand something my brain fills it in based on context and I usually end up bewildered and disappointed by the actual lyrics later.
