Useless talents

Do you possess any "useless" talents? If so, please share!

I, for one, am a champ when it comes to applying lipstick using my boobs instead of my hands. (like in "The Breakfast Club"!) Which, while a fun party trick when I'm tipsy, isn't that much of use unless I have to have both my hands amputated someday.

I have a preternatural gift for deciphering song lyrics. Just song lyrics. My hearing isn't great and I have to ask people to repeat themselves all the time in conversation, but point me to a new song and I will have most of the words memorized within about three repeats. On more than one occasion my parents have asked me to tell them the words to songs they've been listening to since before I was born.

According to my mother, I'm good at naming things, and according to my husband and my roommate, I'm good at finding cheap things at the store.

I guess the second one is fairly useful, but I guess it's kind of an odd talent to have!

I can do this trick with my thumb that makes it look like its popping out of joint, bend my fingers back past a 90 degree angle, make my thumb touch my forearm, touch my head with my foot, and slip my arm sliiiiiightly out of its socket. So I have lax joints, basically.

None of this shit would help me get Timmy out of a well. And I twist my ankles a lot. :c

I have like a 99% success rate of being able to tell how well a movie will do in the box office based on its trailer.

I can also touch my nose with my tongue.

I am great at skimming books to find a particular passage (even ones I have never read). I am also really good at bullshitting essays.

I have the amazing ability to always be misunderstood when speaking via text. And to inadvertently start huge wank when really I was just trying to make a nice simple comment.

I did this more when I still played my trumpet but I could play back the exact tune of a song completely from memory after hearing it one or two times.

I can curl myself up into a tiny ball and fit into spaces I really shouldn't be able to, this has bitten me in the ass on more than one occasion.

I'm extremely good at recognizing movies by pretty much anything - a random still (not even with any characters in it), a few musical notes, a single line (not even a memorable one) etc. Even if I hated the movie and stopped watching in the middle of it, or only saw its trailer once, or just stumbled upon one scene while switching channels as a kid, I just... know. There's something about the atmosphere, the effects, the characterization, the lighting, the coloring, the music - it's like seeing a piece of a jigsaw puzzle after you've seen the whole picture.

I'm great at imitating Hitler. Depending on the company, that's not always a talent to show off.

I also have a great memory - but only for the most irrelevant and stupid shit and not for important things.

I also can do a great fake dutch accent for my native language. It tends to annoy the hell out of people.

I can fall asleep practically anywhere, and I have fantastic dreams, which I usually remember.

Also, I am really good at crossword puzzles.

I can purr like a cat, which is only useful when I'm hugging my cats. I also have a habit of being able to recite dialogue from films/conversation practically verbatim, which is far less useful than you'd imagine.

I'm very good at figuring out how to make an arts and crafts project work. Say if someone doesn't know how to attatche a paper snowmans head to it's body I'm always the firts to figure out how to do it practicaly. On the other hsnd I'm really crap at arts and crafts and can't really do my own projects.

I'm really good at identifying voice actors, provided they're not speaking English. This helps me have conversations such as "oh hey, that guy voices Byakuya from BLEACH?" "He does?" It helps with exactly nothing else. I can similarly identify familiar actors, but that's much more common, I think.

You know the kind of plastic bags that come in a roll, like garbage bags or produce bags at the grocery store, where you have to figure out which end is the open end and then peel it open? Well, I'm really, really good at getting those open.

I can roll my tongue into loops, make my feet turn perfectly sideways like Fred Flintstone, and imitate cat and bird sounds. If I ever got drunk, no doubt I would attempt all three at once and severely injure myself.

I don't really remember the context/whole conversation, but somehow babies came up, and my dad said something about how absent any thumbs, babies can just suck on their toes, because they are "so flexible they can put their literally put their foot in their mouth". I said that it wasn't that flexible, and my dad told me to try it.

I put my foot behind my head, and his eyebrows shot up so high I decided not to mention I can actually still put both feet behind my head at the same time.

I've always known I'm a little more flexible than most, but the last few years have been me discovered just how distorted my views on flexibility really are. Also known as, "I've slept in most beginning yoga positions without thinking twice about it". :P

Also, I can wiggle my ears, wiggle one ear at a time, and even wiggle them at the same time but at different speeds.

I am told this is unusual.
